A corrections officer who was present when a patient died at the state prison's psychiatric unit testified Wednesday that she tried to calm the patient down before he was restrained. She took the stand as part of the murder trial of another officer who is accused of killing the patient. Former corrections officer Matthew Millar is accused of killing patient Jason Rothe, who was being held in the secure psychiatric unit of the state prison.

Former corrections officer Matthew Millar is accused of killing patient Jason Rothe, who was being held in the secure psychiatric unit. According to investigators, six corrections officers were trying to restrain patient Rothe in April 2023.

New Hampshire is signing on to a $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and its owners over the opioid crisis. New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella announced Monday that the state is joining every other state and territory in the country in the settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family. New Hampshire will get up to $30 million in funding over the next 10 years. Formella said that money will go toward supporting treatment, recovery and prevention efforts across the state.

A protest was planned Tuesday night outside Nashua District Court to highlight Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests in New Hampshire and in response to ongoing demonstrations in Los Angeles. The protest comes as News 9 Investigates has obtained new video of a second ICE arrest that happened in Nashua. Surveillance video shows a man who is a Brazilian national walking out of the courthouse on April 10. As he walks to the back of the parking lot, several ICE vehicles corner him.
