The village board voted Tuesday to spend more than $5 million on contracts to authorize new construction around the central business district.  Several streets downtown will be removed and repaved with new curbs and gutters, sidewalks, sewers and light installations.

    URBANA — Annie Adams announced her campaign for mayor of Urbana in September. Adams is a member of the city’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission and a resident who has been involved with city planning. Urbana’s current mayor, Diane Marlin, has endorsed Adams. Adams describes herself as “a real systems person” who knows how to navigate city governance to get results.
