Ronald Lauder, the conservative president of the World Jewish Congress, declared that it was "meant to cause Jews everywhere to tremble with fear."A similar sentiment came from progressive leaders as well.

A manifesto defending "armed demonstration" against Israel under the name of Elias Rodriguez was posted on social media hours before police said they had arrested a man by that name for shooting two Israeli embassy staffers outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night. Appeals to make due with less are usually accompanied by a pitch for something better on the other side — you'll pay higher taxes but in exchange you'll have free healthcare. But I haven't seen Trump articulate the benefit to giving up these 28 dolls.

Trump: “Somebody said, ‘Oh the shelves are going to be open.’ Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls. And maybe the two dolls will cost a couple bucks more than they would normally.” https://t.co/MTCYll6lFa
