    Luxe, loungey and low slung. Apologies for the alliteration, but that’s just the perfect description of the Togo by Ligne Roset. Dreamt up in the ’60s by designer Michel Ducaroy and inspired by – seriously – a tube of toothpaste folded back on itself like a stovepipe and closed at both ends, this purposefully wrinkled modular seating collection turned heads and won a design award on its debut in 1973 at a Parisian design show.

    Do you say Adirondack or Muskoka when it comes to this classic outdoor chair? Likely, it depends on whether you live north or south of the 49th parallel. But our story begins back in 1903 in upstate New York, when a certain Thomas Lee put pen to paper while vacationing in the picturesque Adirondack Mountains. The chair he sketched was simple in form, then prototyped and tested on family members, and is the original version of the chair we know and love today.
