India’s 26-man shortlist for the October international break has been revealed. Manolo Marquez has opted to make several changes to shake things up, and will choose a final list of 23 players for the tournament. The contingent will be facing Vietnam and Lebanon in the Tri-Nation Series as part of the break. They will face the hosts on October 9 with almost no preparation, as they will arrive in Vietnam on October 7. After a two-day gap, they will face Lebanon with one dedicated recovery session.

The IPL Governing Council has announced as part of a batch of new rules that foreigners withdrawing from the competition after selection will face a ban. These players will not be allowed to register for the auction in the subsequent two seasons. One of the cases of this happening was Mark Wood, who is contracted with LSG at a price of INR 7.50 crore, pulled out of IPL 2024, citing workload management. The new rules would prevent Wood from registering in the auction for 2025 and 2026.
