    DRIVERS of certain Nissan models could get up to $5,000 if they have their receipts for past repairs. A new class action settlement is offering cash, vouchers and warranty extensions to some Nissan owners and lessees. The Japanese automaker agreed to a massive payout after drivers complained that several Murano and Maxima vehicles had a transmission defect. The case was filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. It covers Nissan Murano models made from 2015 to 2018.

    A WOMAN has been stuck paying for a rental car after her own vehicle was shot full of holes while parked outside her home. Brenda Keys' car was left damaged in a shooting that broke out in her neighborhood last year, ruining her and her neighbor's vehicles. Keys has been forced to drive a rental car for over four months after cops told her they couldn't help fix her car after the shooting. She had just been sitting down to relax when she heard the gunshots on the fateful night of December 17, 2024.

    A LOOMING safety law is set to go into place in just days, slapping passengers on the road with a $50 ticket unless they're buckled up. Drivers must be sure to wear their seatbelts because all passengers older than eight face the new penalties starting on April 21. The new law means that as of Monday, everyone riding charter buses has to wear their seatbelts. The rule specifically affects buses built on or after November 28, 2016.

    DRIVERS can relax this weekend as they can leave their cars without getting a parking ticket for three whole days. Side parking rules are being paused from Thursday through Saturday to observe Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Passover. Drivers don't have to move their cars according to the Alternate Side Parking rules that require owners to keep alternate sides of the streets free of vehicles for specific periods of time. The rules were first put in place to make street sweeping easier.
