    Hanwha Aerospace has committed $205 million in funding for its partnership with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. to develop and manufacture unmanned aerial vehicles in South Korea. The Korean defense company aims to promote local employment opportunities and use the country’s supply chain for UAV components through the collaboration, the Korea Economic Daily reported. The partnership calls for the companies to co-develop GA-ASI’s Gray Eagle short takeoff and landing UAV.

    The U.K. Defence Science and Technology Laboratory and Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Group have agreed to synthesize their capabilities in modular technology to jointly develop advanced subsystems for weapons at reduced costs.     The Department of the Air Force has issued a solicitation for prototype multi-fuel power systems to back up its existing on-site power sources. The “flex fuel” prototypes DAF wants are designs that not only increase power sources and fuel options but also clean energy systems that reduce costs and minimize maintenance and operational requirements, according to the department’s Thursday Tradewinds post.
