(WALB) - The person who was killed in a triple shooting in Cordele on June 19 has now been identified. The Chief of Police, Jalon Heard, has identified the victim as 18-year-old Ladarius Blanks. Blanks was found lying in the roadway of the 700th block of South 12th Street. Police said two other teens were also shot in the same area.

    GRADY, Ga. (WALB) - On Sunday, June 15th, a drunk driver reportedly hit a Grady County patrol vehicle. According to a Facebook post by the Grady County Sheriff’s Office, A Tallahassee man was clocked by deputies a short time ago driving 65mph in a 35mph on Highway 84. The vehicle failed to stop when signaled to do so by deputies ultimately hitting a patrol car at airport road and Highway 84.

The vehicle failed to stop when signaled to do so by deputies ultimately hitting a patrol car at airport road and highway 84. The driver was impaired, and more charges are pending. No deputies were injured.

    South Georgia. (WALB) - Time is ticking for South Georgians that need assistance with temporary housing. Sunday June 15th is the last day to apply for the “Hearts Georgia” Program. The program provides temporary housing for survivors whose homes were damaged during the storm. The application closes tonight at 11:59pm. The HEARTS Georgia program was established in response to the historic damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
