The Switchbacks are currently sitting in the 11th spot of the USL Western Conference, and Las Vegas Lights FC are in sixth. Both teams were in it to win, but Switchbacks' goalkeeper Christian Herrera maintained a strong defense and kept the Lights from scoring. The game ended 0-0.

EL PASO COUNTY, CO. (KOAA) — Colorado State Patrol (CSP) responded to a fatal crash in El Paso County on Sunday afternoon. According to CSP, the crash happened at Elbert Road and Murphy Place, near Peyton, around 1:00 p.m.State Patrol says that initial reports say a Ram 3500 and a Chevy Suburban collided near the intersection. The passenger from the Ram was transported to the hospital, but the driver remained on the scene of the accident.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received multiple calls around midnight on Saturday about a shooting in the 200 block of South Academy Boulevard. When police arrived, they found two people who had been shot. They later found out about a third person who had been shot and was taken to a hospital. According to police, the suspected shooter was apprehended by community members who intervened when the shooting began.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — On Thursday, May 8, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a shooting in the 3600 block of Parkmoor Village Drive. The next day, a CSPD officer found the car that was involved in Thursday's shooting. Police say that after a short time of surveillance, two detectives and K-9 Lofgren arrested 27-year-old Brandon Jones. When police arrested him, they said he had a felony amount of methamphetamine and a loaded rifle.

(KOAA) — In December 2024, the Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) Board of Trustees voted not to extend the lease for the Rockrimmon Library, resulting in the library's closure. A local organization, COS Reads, has been at the forefront of an ongoing battle between PPLD and the community members who were against the library's closure. COS Reads, in collaboration with Westside Watch and Integrity Matters, even filed a lawsuit against PPLD and the City of Colorado Springs.
