Girl touched inappropriately at school, police appealing for additional victims to come forward

A London man is facing sexual interference charges after allegedly touching a school-aged girl on multiple occasions at a school in the city’s north end. According to the London Police Service, earlier this month police were made aware of a sexual assault allegation that was reported to have taken place at a school in the city’s north end.
Chesley hospital emergency department closed May 31-June 3

Citing “insufficient staffing,” the emergency department at Chesley’s hospital is closed this weekend. According to a news release from South Bruce Grey Health Centre, the Chesley emergency department is closed as of May 31 and will reopen on June 3 at 7 a.m. During that time, ambulance by-pass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open emergency department.
Parents give back to LHSC trauma team to continue daughter’s legacy

Over the next decade, Lisa and Dennis Carroll have pledged $1,000 annually in order to establish the Rachel Carroll Wellness Award. The award is in memory of their daughter Rachel, who “possessed a zest for life and a passion for travel.” Rachel suffered traumatic injuries in a car crash while travelling to Costa Rica. According to the release, the trauma team at LHSC played a “pivotal role” in her recovery, which allowed her to chart a new path focus on healing and spirituality.
Vehicle plows through cannabis shop storefront Wednesday afternoon

No serious injuries have been reported after a vehicle crashed into a cannabis shop in the city’s east end Wednesday afternoon. Emergency crews arrived at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to find a white SUV fully emerged into the storefront of Right Puff Cannabis, located in the area of Commissioners Road East and Adelaide Street South. No serious injuries have been reported. The cause of the crash remains unclear.

SIU invokes mandate after suspect, officer injured during arrest in south London

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has invoked their mandate after a suspect and a police officer were injured during an arrest related to a traffic investigation on Sunday morning. According to the London Police Service, early Sunday morning police stopped a vehicle in the city’s south end in relation to a traffic investigation. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled from police on foot and was arrested a short distance away.
Teen boy repeatedly stabbed, Windsor police searching for suspect

Windsor police are searching for a suspect after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times following a verbal dispute on Saturday night. According to the Windsor Police Service, shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a call about a stabbing at a park in the 600-block of Bruce Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old boy with knife wounds to his body.
50 people involved in 'physical altercation,' multiple youths arrested

Multiple youths have been arrested and charged after police responded to a “physical altercation” involving approximately 50 people in Chatham Saturday night. According to the Chatham-Kent Police Service, at approximately 8:11 p.m. on Saturday, police received reports of large group of approximately 50 people who were involved in “a physical altercation” within Tecumseh Park. Police said the incident possibly involved prohibited weapons.
Michigan man who dove into Lake St. Clair missing, search underway

A search is currently underway for a Michigan man who police said jumped into the waters of Lake St. Clair on Saturday afternoon and did not resurface. According to Essex County OPP, at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton in regards to a swimmer who had jumped into the water from a pontoon boat and did not resurface. A 28-year-old man from St. Clair, Mich. remains missing.
Huron County fire crews tackle blaze at Goderich, Ont. Home Hardware

Huron County fire crews spent Saturday evening extinguishing a fire at a hardware store in Goderich. According to CTV News London’s Scott Miller, fire crews attended Watsons Home Hardware in Goderich on Saturday evening for a report of a fire. On social media, crews said the blaze was a “fully involved structure fire.” A section of Highway 21, in the south end of Goderich, was closed for much of the evening as fire crews from across Huron County battled the stubborn blaze.
