A former Beach Drive British pub and restaurant is set to make its return to downtown St. Petersburg, after a four-year hiatus. The Moon Under Water served patrons at 332 Beach Drive NE for more than 20 years before it closed in February 2021 during the pandemic, which significantly impacted many businesses in the hospitality industry. Owners Alan and Suzanne Lucas sold the restaurant to Caledon Concepts; the restaurant group converted the location to a Ceviche in 2022.

Indi-ED, a local educational nonprofit, has secured its first permanent home after nearly a decade of operation in St. Petersburg. The organization, which provides an alternative approach to traditional schooling, recently closed on a property at 1100 16th Street N. that will serve as its new headquarters and learning space. Residents, business leaders and community advocates gathered Tuesday night to participate in a discussion about future improvements to parts of the city. The City of St. Petersburg launched Voices from the Corridor, a series of community workshops that are part of the Imagine the Deuces initiative, in February. This effort was created to honor the history and culture of 22nd Street South, known as the Deuces, and encourage residents to help shape its future.

A new span of the Howard Frankland Bridge is now open to traffic, connecting St. Petersburg and Tampa. The opening marks a significant milestone in the years-long project aimed at easing congestion and improving travel between the two cities. The bridge is one of the busiest stretches of interstate in Florida. The new span is expected to alleviate traffic pressure by adding four general-use lanes and four express lanes. Construction on the new span began in 2020.
