    The Association for Asian Studies welcomes nominations and self-nominations of candidates for our Fall 2025 elections. All nominations must be submitted by completing this online form no later than Friday, February 14, 2025. Nominees should be current AAS members (or must become members if selected to appear on the election ballot) who wish to contribute to the Association and the field of Asian Studies through participation in AAS governance.

    For more than 80 years, the Association for Asian Studies has held an Annual Conference each spring in North America. Open to all individuals holding an interest in Asian Studies, this annual meeting brings over 3,300 Asianists to present and discuss the latest research in the field. Academics, university faculty, graduate students, and more attend over 400 panel sessions, a book exhibition, and film screenings, and partake in multiple networking and social functions.

Volunteer session opportunities are available for the in-person conference (only) in Columbus. Each year, the Annual Conference Program Committee organizes sessions from the individual paper submissions accepted to the conference program.
