As China celebrates Spring Festival and the year of the snake, there is some optimism about the recovery of the global economy. China’s gross domestic product or GDP grew 5% in 2024, with the country pursuing high quality development, green energy, consumer spending and further opening up. The United States closed 2024 with 2.3% GDP growth. Consumer spending also helped keep the economy humming.
