Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in reproductive-aged women, affecting 6–20% of women (Escobar-Morreale, 2018). In 2019, there were 66.0 million prevalent cases of PCOS, with an age-standardized point prevalence of 1677.8 per 100 000 women, a 30.4% increase since 1990 (Safiri et al., 2022). The prevalence of PCOS varies among different countries worldwide.
