As sirens blared, personnel from disaster management, police, fire and health, rushed people to safer places and administered medical aid to the injured. At most places, the drill started at 4pm and concluded within an hour.

TrendingNew Delhi: The urban development department informed Delhi Assembly recently that the 12 zones of Municipal Corporation of Delhi registered 76,465 cases of illegal constructions in 10 years — from Jan 1, 2015 to March 17, 2025 — but enforcement action was initiated in only 35,842 cases. The assembly was also informed that 11,903 properties were sealed, and only 683 were unsealed after the owners completed the necessary formalities during the same period.

New Delhi: Delhi will soon have a new riverfront on the western banks of the Yamuna, where the Millennium bus depot was built during the Commonwealth Games in 2010. The riverfront, the eleventh in floodplain restoration projects along the 22-km course of the Yamuna in the city, will have spacious plazas with landscaped lawns and a fountain as the centrepiece.
