    Kristie Brown Loftland said the Autism Society of Indiana wants to make it easier on parents and families.  “It's already confusing for a lot of parents when they first get the diagnosis of autism,” Brown Loftland, the ASI board president, said. About one in 36 U.S. children has autism spectrum disorder. After diagnosis, Brown Loftland says some parents may have no idea what to do next.

    Indiana University Bloomington Chancellor David Reingold officially started his new role Monday. Reingold was formerly the vice president for policy planning at Purdue University. Now, he's returning to IU, where he spent 18 years as a faculty member. He will take over part of Provost Rahul Shrivastav’s role and work in President Pamela Whitten’s cabinet. "We share a number of common goals, and I'm looking forward to working with them to lead the campus to new heights,” Reingold said.

    May 30, 2025 Indiana University has received almost 50 complaints since the state enacted Senate Enrolled Act 202, an “intellectual diversity” law that allows community members to report faculty conduct. SEA 202 requires faculty to teach “intellectually diverse” ideas in the classroom. If they don't, their tenure could be in jeopardy. The law went into effect ahead of the 2024 fall semester.

    May 30, 2025 A federal judge has paused part of Indiana University’s expressive activity policy after an American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana lawsuit. The ACLU suit said the university violated the First Amendment by restricting when “expressive activity” — such as protesting, making speeches, carrying signs and peaceful assembly — could occur.
