Mount Enterprise football standout Kaegan Ash has committed to Texas Tech. The rising senior made the pledge to be a future Red Raider during a campus visit this weekend, a week after receiving his offer to play linebacker at a Texas Tech camp. This was Ash's first Power Four offer. He's also received offers from four Ivy League colleges, along with Army, Navy, Air Force and Washington State as well as other in-state offers from Texas State, Texas-El Paso, Stephen F. Class 2A Division II state finalist Overton had nine players receive 19-2A All-District awards including Offensive Player of the Year honors for junior Rylan Holleman for the 2025 season. District champions Harleton earned four superlative selections including Most Valuable Player to Carson Wallace, Defensive Player of the Year to Mason Clark, Newcomer of the Year to Lucas Townlin and Coach of the Year honors for DJ Beck. Aiden Brantley of Beckville was named Pitcher of the Year.

Henderson 14U All-Stars win state tournament, 10U girls earn silver

WHITEHOUSE — The Henderson 14U All-Stars won the NCS All-Star State Tournament with a best-of-three victory over Gilmer and the Henderson 10U All-Stars were the runner-up team behind Carthage this weekend. Playing in Whitehouse on Saturday, the 14U Henderson All-Stars won 10-4 and 15-3. They previously qualified to the state tournament with a runner-up finish at their NCS district tournament in Marshall a week earlier.

NACOGDOCHES — All-Star teams from the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association competed in 6U, 7U and 8U Dixie Youth Baseball District 9 tournaments this weekend. Kilgore 6U Red went 3-2 overall playing in an 11-team bracket featuring teams from Panola County, Nacogdoches, Bullard and Henderson from June 6-8 at the Nacogdoches Youth Sports park. The Kilgore 6U White went 0-2 at the same tournament and the 7U and 8U Kilgore All-Stars each went 0-2 playing at the KBBA parks June 6-8.

KILGORE — The Henderson 7U All-Stars went undefeated at the Dixie Youth Baseball 7U District 9 tournament last weekend, winning the district championship and advancing to the 7U state tournament. The tournament was hosted at the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association parks from June 7-8. Henderson 7U opened with a 16-0 win over Nacogdoches, defeated Bullard 12-7 and faced Bullard again the championship game on Saturday for a 12-1 victory.

NEW LONDON — West Rusk High School hosted two dozen little student-athletes for their annual Little Raider camp last week, a four-day challenge featuring lessons in speed circuit training, basketball, football, baseball, softball and volleyball. The camp was for third through sixth graders. It was also the first week of summer workouts for the high school Raiders, who served as an example for the younger kids as they did speed circuit training on the field at Bruce Bradshaw Stadium.
West Rusk Raiders qualify to state linemen challenge

LINDALE — The West Rusk Raiders won the Division 3 championship competing in the State Qualifier Linemen Challenge held at Lindale High School on Friday and will advance to the Hardin Simmons State Lineman Challenge in Abilene on June 21. West Rusk has done the state qualifier challenge the last four years and made it to state three years in a row now. In addition to winning their division, the Raider linemen crew also won the tug of war challenge.
