During the visit, we toured a uranium enrichment facility, participated in a roundtable discussion with industry executives, and toured a hydraulic fracturing site. The Permian Basin is the heartbeat of the American energy industry.

This past week, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin appeared before the Energy and Commerce Committee's Environment Subcommittee for a hearing titled, "The Fiscal Year 2026 Environmental Protection Agency Budget." During the hearing, I thanked Administrator Zeldin for coming to West Texas, commended his efforts to rein in the EPA’s regulatory overreach, and asked about the status of several key policies.
