It was no secret that Penn State was going to attack the transfer portal hard after an underwhelming performance by its wide receiver room in the College Football Playoff. A 27-24 loss to Notre Dame, capped by the fact that not one wide receiver made a catch, made it clear and obvious that pass catchers would be on their way to Happy Valley. Kyron Hudson was the first of three receivers PSU added in the transfer portal for the 2025 season.

Photo by Orlando Ramirez/Getty Images Don’t look now, but the MLB trade deadline is less than two months away. The Pittsburgh Pirates have a few assets on expiring contracts likely to be dealt - Andrew Heaney, Caleb Ferguson, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa - but also long-term players that could pique the interest of other teams. ESPN lead MLB insider Jeff Passan previewed the deadline this week, including outlooks for all 30 teams.

Penn State will know by the end of the weekend if it has landed one of the top cornerbacks in the Class of 2026. Four-star corner Khary Adams announced on social media Thursday, “this weekend,” in reference to a potential decision. Adams posted a GIF of Ric Flair in a South Carolina jersey, fueling speculation he could commit to the Gamecocks.

Penn State reached the College Football Playoff semifinals in 2024 as a No. 6 seed. On3 analyst Andy Staples projected the 12-team field this week and ranked PSU as the No. 2 seed in his bracket, thus winning the Big Ten and being the highest-ranked team in the conference. He also predicted Penn State to have the most crushing end. Staples mocked the Nittany Lions to have a first-round bye, but lose to No. 7 seed Georgia in the CFP quarterfinals and will drop their first and only game.

Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images It’s time for the Pittsburgh Pirates to give Henry Davis the playing time he needs. They owe it to themselves to know what they have. When the Pirates drafted Davis No. 1 overall in 2021, they freed up room to draft high-impact high school players to expensive deals and save pool money on Davis. The strategy landed them Bubba Chandler, but hasn’t resulted in success with the most important selection.

RT @937theFan: 3 straight starts for Paul Skenes to give up a run, he didn't get a win in any of those games

They’re actually not that bad. Not elite like the 71 and 79 throwbacks, but not terrible.

We don’t talk enough about how ugly the Pirates “PGH” City Connect jerseys are. Team has so many classic uniform options too. Real shame.

Another game that Paul Skenes will not win. Never ending cycle. That’s what is most annoying of all.
