    1. Eight times in a row. Orlando City SC got its 2025 U.S. Open Cup run off to a hot start as the Lions trounced their cross-state rivals, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, for the eighth straight time across all competitions and the largest margin of victory ever between the two teams. 2. It was a bit of a slow start for the Lions for the first 30 minutes, with both sides combining for only one shot. After a water break in the 30th minute, Orlando started to get going offensively.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Orlando City is back in the U.S. Open Cup! And what better way to start their run in the tournament than in the same way as they started their run in 2022: playing their old cross-state rival the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Seven changes sprinkle the starting lineup for the Lions from their last league game, with Head Coach Oscar Pareja opting to give some players more opportunities. Javier Otero will make his third Club appearance tonight, as he will start in goal.

CHICAGO — On the heels of a rivalry win over Atlanta United, Orlando City SC now set its sights on the Chicago Fire. Just after coming back from injury, Eduard Atuesta misses out on tonight's game after being listed late in the week as questionable due to a neck issue. In his stead, César Araújo returns to play alongside Kyle Smith. The rest of the lineup remains the same as last week. For Smith, he is 20 minutes away from a Lions milestone: 10,000 minutes with the club.

PORTLAND, Ore. — After a comeback victory against Angel City FC one week ago, Orlando Pride Head Coach Seb Hines has opted to switch things up in the starting lineup with five changes. In defense, Oihane comes back to start over Cori Dyke, and rookie Zara Chavoshi gets the starting nod along with Carson Pickett, with Kylie Nadaner and Angelina going to the bench. In midfield, Haley McCutcheon returns to start over Morgan Gautrat while in the forward line, Ally Watt starts over Prisca Chilufya.

    1. A slow start turned into a fast finish as Orlando City SC put three goals past Brad Guzan and Atlanta United to return to winning ways. 2. The first 40 minutes was, for all intents and purposes, dull. The Lions held possession, but couldn't really create any chances going forward. It was a lot of slow, methodical play from Orlando, with Atlanta looking to bunker and counter off turnovers. 3. Just before halftime, the Lions were able to finally break the deadlock through Luis Muriel.
