GADSDEN, Ala. (WIAT) — A Gadsden man is behind bars after being charged with possession of child porn. Brian Scott Lipscomb was arrested after a search warrant was executed at this home Friday morning and is being held on $1 million bond. Retired Supreme Court Justice David Souter dies at 85 Lipscomb is charged with 50 counts of possession of child pornography, Gadsden Police Department reports. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — A 38-year-old inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility was found dead at the prison Wednesday evening. Austin police looking for child last seen in 2017 after sibling found locked in closet Jerome Lamont Reed was found unresponsive in his cell around 6:14 p.m. and was pronounced dead an hour later. No foul play is suspected in Reed’s death, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reports. The official cause of Reed’s death is pending additional tests and studies.
