The Sixers' worst nightmare was realized early in this forgettable season, Joel Embiid's knee refusing to cooperate from the very start. Philadelphia's second worst nightmare was a slow bleed, Paul George only playing 41 games in the first year of a maximum deal. When he did play, it was discouraging. 16.2 points on 54.3 percent true shooting, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Unquestionably the worst season he's had in a decade. Oh, and he's still owed $162,379,140 over the next three seasons.

The Sixers enter an extended summer with 11 potential free agents from this season's roster. Here's what they all said about their futures at their exit interviews and a thought on the possibility of each returning. Eric GordonReporter: "You have a player option for next season. There's a 36-percent chance that the reward for this disastrous Sixers season gets kicked down the road like a can. There's a 64-percent chance that the Sixers have the opportunity to add one of the six best prospects in the 2025 NBA draft, potentially creating a bridge that unifies the present-day team with the future of the franchise. No pressure. In his end-of-season interview on Sunday, Daryl Morey made it clear that there would be no getting cute with the team's draft philosophy.

PHILADELPHIA- "That's a good question," Eric Gordon said with a nod. He'd been asked whether he felt the team meeting early in the season - in which, most notably, Tyrese Maxey held Joel Embiid accountable for bad habits - led to lingering issues in the locker room throughout the season. "But we shouldn't be in that position. I feel like, you know, especially that early in the year, to have a conversation as a team and we shouldn't be in that position. But like I said, we overcame it.

The Sixers lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, locking in the fifth best odds in the draft lottery. Here's what I saw. Likes- Until the second half of Wednesday's win over the Washington Wizards, Marcus Bagley's NBA career scoring output was limited to put-backs and shots off doing the hard work at the rim. Then, he canned a corner three in DC, breaking an 0-for slump to start his NBA experience. Evidently, it only took him finding the range once for the touch to stick.

So what happens in Dallas if the Lakers win the title this season and Luka wins FMVP?

Long live the Nico Batum no-dip three.

The Mavs losing isn't humiliating, the way they're losing is humiliating. Memphis isn't even remotely intimidated by Dallas' size and the Mavs can't stop an exactly average halfcourt offense. It flies against everything Nico Harrison stuck his chest out about.
