The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has emerged winner of the 2025 National Tax Debate Completion organised by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). FUOYE, a 14-year-old educational institution that has experienced an exponential growth and known for its academic excellence, was said to have defeated other top universities from across Nigeria, to occupy the first position in the national tax debate competition.

President Bola Tinubu shocked many Nigerians when on Tuesday he declared a state of emergency in Rivers, citing the prolonged political crisis in the state.
