CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston County leaders are working on improving traffic and congestion for its residents and have made plenty of headway on a new interchange, but they want to hear the community’s thoughts. The Palmetto Commerce Interchange project will be a so-called “urban diamond” interchange between Highway 78 and Ashley Phosphate Road. An urban diamond interchange is a type of interchange that uses less space by using closely spaced ramp intersections.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) -Berkeley County is experiencing a rapid increase in population growth and with recent data predicting a continued increase, leaders are doing everything they can to prepare. In the One Berkeley Comprehensive Plan, the County estimates they will have nearly 400,000 residents by 2040. The latest projections from the U.S. Census Bureau show Berkeley County to reach around 388,000 residents by 2042, showing that studies are predicting similar results.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - As the demand for occupational and physical therapy increasingly exceeds the number of available therapists in South Carolina, the Medical University of South Carolina is making a substantiative program change in hopes of offering a solution to this issue. Data from MUSC shows that, of South Carolina’s 46 counties, 16 have less than 10 practicing physical therapists.
