As Noah Luch ’24 neared the end of his time at Princeton, he knew he “wanted to make sure [he] did something that was really lasting and impactful.” As the chair of the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Mental Health Committee at the time, he thought back to an issue that had been bugging him since he started: mental health copays. On July 12, University Health Services (UHS) announced several changes to coverage through the Student Health Plan (SHP).

Beginning this semester, students will purchase textbooks and other required course materials through the new eCampus Online Bookstore platform. Students have reported experiencing order delays from the new online bookstore and expressed concern over potential long processing times in the mailroom at Frist Campus Center.

Beginning Aug. 1, the copay for mental health visits in the Exclusive Provider Network (EPN) for students enrolled in the Student Health Plan (SHP) was reduced from $20 to $10 for the 2024–25 Plan Year. The plan also now completely covers the cost of EPN initial therapist consultations, meaning students on the plan can begin mental health care with an off-campus provider.

Seven alumni have been elected to serve on the 2024-25 Board of Trustees, the University announced Friday, June 28. With seven other trustees expected to complete their terms on June 30, the size of the Board remains at 37 members.

The Baccalaureate ceremony and 2024 Class Day, held on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27, respectively, were two of many events that brought an end to the college experiences of the Class of 2024. At these ceremonies, students, friends, and families gathered to celebrate the achievements of a class which first experienced Princeton virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. Graduation events began on Sunday, May 26 with the University’s 277th Baccalaureate ceremony.

On Monday, Feb. 5, Dartmouth College announced its decision to reinstate the requirement to submit standardized test scores as part of their admissions process beginning with the Class of 2029. According to the announcement, this decision was made based on research showing that test scores provide the admissions committee with valuable information about applicants.

Less than a week since the University’s ban on scooters, e-bikes, and other Personal Electric Vehicles (PEVs) went into effect, about 80 vehicles, all of them scooters, have been confiscated. The ban came into effect on Jan. 25, four days before the start of classes this semester.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, The Daily Princetonian staff elected Eden Teshome ’25 as the upcoming Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of the 148th managing board following two hours of platform deliberation in Betts Auditorium. For the first time since 2018, Teshome was the only candidate for Editor-in-Chief.

Students eagerly planning for next semester’s courses now have a new app to craft their schedule. TigerJunction, created by Joshua Lau ’26, plans to integrate three different apps — ReCal+, CourseGenie, and ReqTree — into a single platform. Using the application, students will eventually be able to plan their semester schedules, map out prerequisites, and create four-year course plans. ReCal+, the semester course planning tool, is currently the only functional portion available for users.

TigerHub, Princeton’s official portal where students view their grades and schedules and pay their tuition, has come under a fair amount of criticism: “It’s clear from the look and feel of [TigerHub] that insufficient time and money have been allocated to make [it] easy to use and aesthetically on par with modern web standards,” wrote Contributing Columnist Christopher Lidard ’25 last fall.
