For her entire life Ella Scott has been obsessed with pink. Growing up it was just a favorite color, but after she watched “Legally Blonde” in high school for the first time, the hue “revolutionized” her life. A couple years later she walked across the stage at high school graduation with Elle Woods’ iconic line, “What? Like it’s hard?” on her cap. In the movie, Woods wins a tough case despite being underestimated by numerous other characters.

Moving between semesters is weird. Not good or bad, just a little bit weird. Finding a new space and living with new people can make the fall and spring semesters feel even more distinct than they already are. My junior year, I moved homes in between semesters; in the fall I lived on Limit Avenue behind the Lofts, and in the spring, my apartment was on McPherson Avenue. It was a planned move and made the most sense for me given my housing situation at the end of sophomore year.

Having gone through the housing process three times ourselves, we can say that it can be stressful and intense. On Tuesday, senior Tovi Blauser got to the polls at 6 a.m. to avoid the long line that would soon form inside the Field House. “I woke up at 6 a.m. and my roommate and I were planning on going to the voting center in the [Athletic Center], and we did [in the] pouring rain.” She waited in line for half an hour before she started hearing people around her say that the AC was a polling place for St. Louis County.

It seems that in the lead-up to the election, both former President Trump and Vice President Harris are in agreement about something — the 2024 presidential race is the most important election of our lifetime. For conservatives, it is a battle between patriotism and communism; for liberals, the election is a decision to choose between democracy and complete autocracy. Regardless of where you stand, the stakes are made out to be awfully high, and at each rally, they only seem to get higher.
