ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court’s Justice Babar Sattar has ordered continuing with the court proceedings under a single bench despite the division bench’s order to stay the contempt- of-court-proceedings against the immigration and passports director general and NAB director. Questions were raised on the powers of the division bench. Justice Babar Sattar remarked that the high court is a constitutional court, and the division bench cannot stop a high court judge from conducting a case.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has reserved its judgment on an appeal against the decision of the Islamabad District Judicial Service Tribunal to send back judges who came on deputation. The court inquired the law officer to apprise it of the number of judges in Islamabad’s subordinate judiciary and judges who were working on deputation. After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court directed the amicus curiae to submit his arguments in writing.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is unlikely to schedule a hearing on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s appeal against his conviction in the £190 million case during the year 2025, the court’s registrar office has said. According to a written report submitted to the IHC, the appeal — which challenges a 14-year jail sentence handed down in the case — was filed on January 31 2025.

ISLAMABAD: The Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that a military court has convicted former air marshal Jawad Saeed in a case of sedition and espionage. The then air marshal was in charge of Operation Swift Retort, the six air strikes carried out by Pakistan after India’s Balakot attack. Now he is being investigated for sharing and leaking sensitive information related to the operation.
