To evaluate urinary activated leucocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM) and CD6 as predictors of lupus nephritis (LN) progression or disease resolution across a 1-year study. Serum and urine samples from biopsy proven LN subjects (n = 122) were prospectively collected over the course of a year at 3- or 6-month intervals (weeks 0, 12, 26, and 52) across multiple study sites and assessed for soluble ALCAM and CD6 levels.

AbstractThere is limited and inconsistent evidence that imply a relationship between ABO blood types and rate of preterm birth (PTB). We aim to examine the association between maternal ABO blood group and PTB rate. A retrospective-study conducted at a university teaching institution on data collected between 2013 and 2019. Women who delivered a viable neonate at ≥ 24 weeks without major malformations were included. Indicated PTBs were excluded.

The experimental groups of interest included MRL/lpr lupus mice (Jackson Laboratory, #000485) and age-and-sex matched congenic control MRL/mpj mice (Jackson Laboratory, #000486). Additionally, we studied il6−/− homozygous knockout MRL/lpr (IL-6 KO) mice and il6+/+ homozygous MRL/lpr control littermates (IL-6 WT). The former strain was originally generated by our collaborators at the University of Mainz [65].
