    Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 3.46 percent (year-on-year) in the third quarter of 2024, higher than 3.19 percent in the second quarter 2024 and 2.54 percent in the third quarter of last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The growth was chiefly driven by services, agriculture and industry. The services sector recorded a growth of 5.19 percent and contributed 53.58 percent to the aggregate gross domestic product (GDP), the report said.

The proposed legislation is aimed at streamlining tax collection, ensuring compliance and optimising revenue. In a letter transmitted Thursday, the president said the bills would provide a clearer and more concise framework for the efficient administration of all tax laws. The President also transmitted the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Bill and four other bills.
