Over decades, an impressive greenhouse has sprouted at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. There’s a room for propagating and research, a rainforest room, a space for plants that would live in the desert or more arid climates, and a spot for student research. “Nothing from native areas. Just about everything in here is from elsewhere. You can go outside and see that native plants,” Kate Borealis said. Borealis is the greenhouse technician.

The Easter Bunny is back at the Miller Hill Mall. That may feel like old news, since it’s been happening for so many years. But looking back at the bunny in the 1990s, it’s clear a few things have changed. The bunny’s photo setup was in front of the Younkers department store then and sported hot pink eyelashes and other accents.

Author Jay Gabler has collected 100 things to do in Duluth before you die and put them all in a book. A new book is out detailing “100 Things to Do in Duluth Before You Die.”Jay Gabler, a Duluth News Tribune reporter, is its author. “It’s meant to just give people fun inspiration for things to do in Duluth that they might have known about but never actually got around to doing or they might not even have known about,” Gabler said.

Warrior Brewing is getting ready to release several collaborations with other local businesses and nonprofits. Owners Ben Gipson and Jake Krzenski say partnerships are in the works with the Duluth Harbor Monsters and Duluth Spice & Tea Exchange. They’re also releasing a Mexican lager called Cerveza Guerrero, which translates to “warrior beer,” in time for Cinco de Mayo. The brewery is looking forward to summer in the taproom with live music, food trucks, and a new outdoor patio space.
