TSMC’s outlook for 2025 surpassed market estimates in all key metrics, alleviating fears of a slowdown in AI spending. The main chipmaker to Apple and Nvidia forecast spending of up to 19% more than analysts anticipated, sending shares in TSMC suppliers including Tokyo Electron and Advantest spiking in Asia. Yet caution may still be warranted given growing tensions around US-China trade relations that threaten to disrupt supply chains around the world.
