This cold front will drive several rounds of rain and thunderstorms starting during the late morning/early afternoon and continue through Wednesday. An isolated strong to severe storm will be possible with damaging winds our primary threat. Highs will trend in the to lower 80’s today with scattered rainfall possible during the workday.

PEORIA (25News Now) - Our forecast will remain on repeat one more day with smoky sunshine and warmer temperatures. Today will be the hottest day we see this week highs reaching the mid to upper 80’s as southerly winds up to 20 miles per hour help funnel warmer air into Central Illinois. Smoke will gradually clear tonight into Tuesday as a cold front approaches from the west Tuesday. Most of the day will trend dry before storm chances arrive ahead of the cold front during the evening.

High pressure will keep our forecast quiet and sunny the next few days. While we will see plenty of sunshine through the weekend, smoke from ongoing wildfires in Canada will make the sky look hazy. Smoke will gradually build today and likely continue through the weekend, bringing slight impacts to our air quality.

A few areas of patchy fog have developed overnight and will continue through the morning commute hours. Be mindful if you do encounter any reductions in visibilities.
