    It’s an event I’ve wanted to attend ever since I heard about it – the National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic. Hosted by Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, this year’s gathering took place at the Kansas City Convention Center. Along with the seminars, exhibitors and bird dogs with their “humans” everywhere, the event also offered a brunch for women, titled “Women on the Wing.” This affiliate program began in 2018 in response to the burgeoning interest of women in the world of upland hunting.

    Easter time is a wonderful opportunity to think spring and brightness – outside and inside. I wanted to find Easter desserts that had these qualities: appealing, colorful and easy to make. I found two ways to knock out some little dessert ditties that could grace a dessert buffet table and add a little zing to the mix on the big day. Thanks to Pinterest, I found Easter blossom cookies and flower pretzel bites. For assistance, I relied on help from the grandkids.

    I have been wearing a pair of popular brand, gingham-patterned rubber boots, ankle high, for years. I bought them at least 9 years ago to match my granddaughter’s gingham boots, made by the same company. When Lacrosse reached out to me with an offer to review the new Alpha deck boots in Timberwolf/camo, I jumped at the chance, and looked forward to trying them. I have not been disappointed.
