Since its inception in 1895, the Venice Biennale has sought to cast this historic city in a new light. With a new educational turn that will expand its research-related activities, it has now announced the creation of a new International Centre for Research on the Contemporary Arts at the Arsenale, where the biennial’s rich historic archives will finally be reunited under a single roof. The project is supported by a €170-million grant from the Italian Ministry of Culture.
