1. IntroductionLung transplantation is a life-saving surgical procedure for patients with end-stage lung disease []. Currently, there is a shortage of donor lungs, leading to increased waiting times, resulting in approximately 20% of patients on the waiting list dying [,,]. The utilization rate of donor lungs (10–15%) is lower than that of the kidneys and the liver (combined 80–85%) [,,,,].
