June 1, 2025By Jeff Wilson–In a novel effort to explain its Climate Adaptation and Resilience program to local children, Irvington’s Green Policy Task Force, under the leadership of the village’s Sustainability Director, Charlotte Binns, turned disaster preparedness into a game. On May 30, in partnership with the Rivertowns Playhouse and the Irvington Presbyterian Church, the Task Force hosted a “game of neighborhood resilience and survival” called Irvington Zombies, created by Binns.

May 29, 2025By Barrett Seaman—At its May 28 meeting, the Greenburgh Town Board voted to appoint Lia Rodriguez of Tarrytown as a Town Judge, replacing the retiring Judge Bonnie L. Orden. She joins Judges Delores Scott Brathwaite and Judge Erin McGoey on the Greenburgh bench. Soon-to-be Judge Rodriguez has spent two decades as a public defender, serving as the supervising attorney for the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice Trial Division, mostly in the Bronx.

Its goal was to address the housing crisis by protecting tenants, building more housing, and making homeownership more accessible. It started as law in New York City but has since been adopted by Albany, Ithaca, Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Rochester, Beacon, Newburgh, Nyack, Hudson, New Paltz, Rochester, Fishkill, Catskill, and Binghamton.
