RYAN BRENNAN came up trumps as Drogheda United edged Cork City at the death at Sullivan & Lambe Park. The skipper, who led his side to FAI Cup glory last year, scored a 96th-minute winner against Cork. Djenairo Daniels’ second goal of the game in the 85th minute looked to have earned Cork a point. The Dutch striker was a handful for the United defence. He started and finished the move that led to his eighth-minute opener.

Thomas Oluwa was the player fouled by Cork goalkeeper Tein Troost.

For the second time this season, Drogheda and St Patrick's played out a scoreless draw. When you include two identical results between the sides last season, four of the last meetings between these teams have finished scoreless. At least this time, it might not be all that surprising that the sides couldn't be separated.

STEPHEN KENNY was raging at Saints’ inability to create chances as his side played out yet another stalemate with Drogheda United. Drogs remain top of the tree after a second draw of the Easter weekend on home soil. While Shelbourne dominated against them on Friday, the Saints had no such joy here. And boss Stephen Kenny fumed: “We wanted to be better than we were. Drogheda were effective. “In the previous game, at home, we created a lot of chances.
