With much fanfare, the SHIPS FOR AMERICA Act was re-introduced into the United States Senate on Wednesday. The bill sponsored by Senator Mark Kelly (Dem-Arizona) and Todd Young (Rep-Indiana), is set to be entered into the House of Representatives by Congressmen Trent Kelly (Rep- Mississippi) and John Garamendi (Dem-California) on Thursday. It follows on President Donald Trump’s early April Executive Order “Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance”, where a Maritime Action Plan was laid out.
