!! संगति, परिवेश और भाव !!एक राजा अपनी प्रजा का भरपूर ख्याल रखता था. राज्य में अचानक चोरी की शिकायतें बहुत आने लगीं. कोशिश करने से भी चोर पकड़ा नहीं गया. हारकर राजा ने ढींढोरा पिटवा दिया कि जो चोरी करते पकडा जाएगा उसे मृत्युदंड दिया जाएगा. सभी स्थानों पर सैनिक तैनात कर दिए गए. घोषणा के बाद तीन-चार दिनों तक चोरी की कोई शिकायत नही आई. उस राज्य में एक चोर था जिसे चोरी के सिवा कोई काम आता ही नहीं था. उसने सोचा मेरा तो काम ही चोरी करना है. मैं अगर ऐसे डरता रहा तो भूखा मर जाउंगा.
