South East Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC) has urged the Akwa Ibom state government to implement the safe abortion law to reduce maternal morbidities and mortalities. The nongovernmental organization said that the National Health Demographic Survey report (2018) places Akwa Ibom as the state with the highest number of maternal mortality of 420 deaths/100,000 live births.

The deceased family was reacting to a viral online video which Dr. Sandra Duru a.k.a Prof Mgbeke claimed that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) told her that Akpabio killed and harvested the organs of late Miss Umoren.

There is excitement and jubilation in Akwa Ibom state over the defection of thousands of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
