1 INTRODUCTION Lithium is a critical metal with a high economic importance and a multitude of applications.1, 2 The commercial products lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) and lithium hydroxide (LiOH) are mainly used for lithium-ion batteries in mobile devices,3 whereby a high purity is essential. Therefore, reliable analytical methods must be available for the analysis of minor and trace impurities throughout the production process.
