IntroductionNumerous studies have found that fine particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter () is associated with adverse birth outcomes, including preterm birth (PTB) and term low birth weight (TLBW).1 According to the State of Global Air 2020 report,2 particulate matter (PM) air pollution worldwide contributed to nearly 20% (500,000) of deaths among neonates, with most deaths related to complications of low birth weight (LBW) and preterm birth.
