I used to scoff at the saleswomen who would peek their heads into the dressing room in my early 20s, never failing to suggest: “and you can belt it!” It might be that comment alone that made me think, for a very long time, that I was not a belt person. Rebellion against any advice. But lately, nothing seems to feel finished without one! Maybe I’m older, maybe the styles are changing, or the sheer volume of options just makes them more compelling.

It’s a fantastic feeling, being reunited with your closet after a trip away, living off of a capsule wardrobe. The bounty of riches at my finger tips every time I open the drawer! Pair this reunion with daylight savings and a slight rise in temp and I’m starting to get butterflies!!! It’s these few blissful weeks in NYC that walking on the sunny side of the street, lightly layered, can feel like a religious experience. I’m not yet worried about the sweat and then A/C blasts of summer.

If you’re a Fashion Person as Lauren always says, you know that the biggest news this season is the musical chairs of designers currently underway. This past month saw studio collections presented (meaning no creative director in place) at brands like Chanel, Gucci and Loewe. Final bows from the designers at Jil Sander, Versace, Bally, Balenciaga, Christian Dior (this one is unconfirmed but widely speculated!).

Getting dressed is part of my job, which feels funny to say! But I’d argue it’s part of everyone’s job. What are you saying to your boss, your coworkers, your fellow commuters without speaking? What are the needs of your day? Are you on your feet? (Supportive shoes!) At a desk? (Comfy waistlines!) You get my drift.
