PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Police have recovered a watch belonging to tight-end Travis Kelce in Providence, according to sources with ABC. The homes of Patrick Mahomes and Kelce were recently burglarized, along with the homes of Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Mile Conley of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Burglars stole $20,000 in cash from Kelce, and caused $1,000 in damage to his back door. Officials have said an international crime ring could be responsible for the break-ins.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority has announced that their board of directors has a new chief executive officer. Christopher Durand has been appointed to take over the position following the resignation of former CEO, Scott Avedisian. Avedisian resigned after he was cited for a hit-and-run at a McDonalds on Post Road in Warwick last year. According to RIPTA, Durand has been serving as the Interim CEO since Avedisian’s resignation.

KINGSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A teacher for the University of Rhode Island who passed away from her injuries after an accident on campus will be laid to rest today. On November 6, McDermott was hit by a car at URI’s Kingston campus. It happened in the early evening near the intersection of Lower College Road and Campus Avenue. McDermott worked at the school for 43 years, working as the Director of Student Involvement and the Memorial Union.
