The Chair of Chatham University’s Board of Trustees Kent McElhattan shared his intent in a recent email to increase the Board’s transparency. The email was prompted by Chatham Student Government’s (CSG) fall town hall and a Communiqué opinion piece. In his 436-word email sent Jan. 14, McElhattan wrote that beginning at the Board’s next meeting on Feb. 14, he will share updates via email to the Chatham community.

Pittsburgh Regional Transit says its “Bus Line Redesign” project aims to improve connectivity and reliability for those who use public transportation with proposed changes made to every line. Riders in the Stowe-Ken-Rox communities are concerned several changes being brought forward are not for the better and have organized to bring attention to the changes that would turn an area route into a neighborhood flyer. The 22-McCoy route becoming the N-22 is at the crux of their concerns.

On July 18, six students marched into the office of Chatham University President Rhonda Phillips to deliver her a list of demands. Dr. Phillips was not present, but graduate student Lindsey Disler, Owen Duthoy ‘26, Florence Lang ‘26, E Kelley ‘25 and Halsey Hyer ‘24 took turns reading the list of demands to her chief of staff Patsy Kraeger. This group, joined by Memuna Bayoh ‘24, is part of Chatham Students United (CSU).
