Best Bet (Race 6) - 5. King Of EnterpriseTravelled like the winner and never got clear last start. Well backed there on previous form. Looks a big price. Next Best (Race 8) - 7. ShockletzLiked her work the last 100m in particular second-up and the rise in distance third-up looks ideal. Best Value (Race 7) - 8. ShaiyharWas OK last start on speed, but key to his best form seems getting to Flemington. Maps for a soft run.

The track was rated a Soft 5 on Friday morning with showers predicted Friday evening and further showers predicted during race day. I'd expect the track to start in the Soft range and then deteriorate further if there is any rain during the meeting. Forecast northwesterly winds can disadvantage horses racing on speed into the wind in both the straight races and races around the turn. Trainer Grahame Begg is striking at an impressive 26 per cent from his last 50 runners.

Best Bet (Race 6) - 5. Alma RiseSuited back on a good track. Ignoring last start on wet. Beat Basilinna two starts ago dry, well placed carrying 54kg. Best Value (Race 7) - 18. Beour BaySolid last start and great against the pattern two and three starts ago. Maps for a soft run and appeals each-way. Best Roughie (Race 8) - 9. Flying MikkiWrong race for him last start over 1600m. Suited back to 1400m and over the odds if he can find previous form.

The rail is in the true position for the flat races and is rated a Good 4. The jumps course was a Soft 7 on the Saturday. I’d expect horses on speed and closer to the rail to have a natural advantage, without any distinct pattern for the flat races. Following a double at Caulfield on Saturday, jockey Ben Allen is striking at an impressive 30% from his past 50 rides going into Sunday’s meeting. With three of his rides scratched, Allen heads to Sandown for one ride aboard He’ll Rip in Race 7.

Would be genuinely interested if there has ever been a team as bad at kicking for goal for an extended period of time like this Melbourne side.
