Co-trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr strike at 21 per cent from 362 starters at Pakenham, which improves to 48 per cent with the 88 favourites they've saddled at the track. The stable has the odds-on favourite Knobelas in the opening race, in which it also prepares one of the main dangers in debutant Fifty Calibre.

Trainer Phillip Stokes strikes at an impressive 27 per cent from 139 starters at Cranbourne. Stokes saddles only the one runner on Friday night, the lightly raced Serial Celebrator in Race 5. We race on the Hillside track this Wednesday for the first time since March 26. Given there is fresh ground and light winds predicted, tempo and talent should play more of a role than any track pattern. Jockey Jye McNeil is striking at 22% from his last 50 rides, which is double his career strike rate and strike rate for the last 12 months. McNeil has three rides at Sandown on Wednesday, the best of which looks to be Kahhof in Race 8, which has been as much as $10 into $5.50 in early betting.
