Golfers and their pants have had an interesting public relationship over the past century or so. Men and women who've walked and carted around the grounds of the world's most iconic golf courses have done so in everything. Seriously. People have been playing golf in skirts, tights, knickers, plus fours, sweatpants, dress slacks, suit pants, full-plaid abominations—and I haven't even mentioned shorts yet.

THERE’S nothing wrong with going for it. We live in the age of 350-metre drives and par 5s in two after all. Yet these days too many tour players lay up while getting dressed. The golfers listed here, however, waited for the green to clear, took big swings and sent some worm-burners skipping through the dew. That’s OK, though.
