What’s Happening:Today, April 15th, marks the 42nd anniversary of Tokyo Disney Resort. Disney’s first international resort opened in 1982, marking the third Disney castle to decorate the world, inviting guests to experience the magic at Tokyo Disneyland.

With the old version of the ride now fully demolished, construction continues on Tokyo Disneyland’s completely new take on Space Mountain and Laughing Place paid a visit to the park this week for some photo updates on the attraction’s progress. The new Space Mountain was first announced back in 2022, though the previous version of the attraction only closed last year, in July 2024.

With several members of the Laughing Place team in Japan for Star Wars Celebration this coming weekend, we’re also able to share a bigger look at the current “it’s a small world with Groot" overlay version of the beloved attraction at Tokyo Disneyland. Though we were able to share photos from the ride earlier this year thanks to our Japan-based contributor Kawamura Tetsuya, we now have a full video of “it’s a small world with Groot," along with more pics to share.

The redevelopment of Disneyland Paris’s Disney Village continues with new store openings. What is Happening:Disney Glamour and Disney Style, have recently opened their doors to guests, offering a selection of ready-to-wear clothing, fashion accessories and articles created through collaborations. The reimagined LEGO Store will reopen on April 19. Also opening April 19 is Deco by Disney which is dedicated to homeware, interior decoration, and Disney collectible items.
