    Heavy Rain In Parts Over The WeekendTwo more status yellow weather warnings for rain have been issued. Both begin at 6 a.m. tomorrow, and heavy rain will occur at times in counties in the west and southeast. Galway and Mayo are included in one warning that expires at 9pm Friday. The other concerns Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford and that expires early Saturday morning. This is in addition to a previously issued rain warning for Kerry and Cork from 11pm tonight until midday tomorrow.

    'Caution' Advised To Students Heading To America On J1J-1 students have been warned not to attend any protests about the conflict in Gaza while in America. The Union of Students in Ireland has students heading Stateside should display "caution" with regards to activism. Since Donald Trump's return to office, a number of migrants have been deported following their participation in pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Larry Donnelly, a law lecturer in Galway, described the advice as "on the money".

    228 Children Awaiting For Spinal SurgeriesThe average wait for what's described as 'non-complex' spinal surgeries in children is four months. Children's Health Ireland has issued an update on the system, saying there are 228 patients on the waiting list. 91 of those children are waiting for a date for their surgery to be carried out. 123 spinal procedures were carried out in the first three months of the year - while in the same timeframe, 144 children were added to the waiting list.

    The EU has paused retaliatory tariffs on American goods for 90 days. It follows Donald Trump's decision to postpone the implementation of tariffs on goods from most countries around the world for the same period. However the EU's taxes were in response to steel and aluminium tariffs which are still in place. China - which is facing an increased 125% tax on American imports - says it's open to dialogue, without "pressure, threats and blackmail".

    Just Two Religious Orders Offer Money To Mother And Baby SurvivorsJust two religious orders that were involved in Mother and Baby institutions have offered financial contributions to survivors. An independent report published by the Government this afternoon reveals a payment of around €13 million from the Sisters of Bon Secours, while the Daughters of Charity of St.Vincent de Paul has offered a building of similar value. Six other religious bodies declined to contribute to the payment scheme.
