When she began her Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, Christin Santiago suffered a bad case of imposter syndrome on the first day of classes. “I remember sitting down and texting my wife: ‘I don’t know where all the grown-ups are, I don’t know where I’m supposed to go, and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. And I think maybe this was a mistake,’” Santiago recounts. Part of her nervousness was that she hadn’t been in a classroom since completing her undergraduate degree in 1999.

It doesn’t matter if it’s Deloitte, EY, PwC, or KPMG: Competition for summer internships at any of the Big Four accounting firms can be fierce. And no wonder: Those internships often lead directly to job offers following graduation. It’s much easier to get what’s called a “winternship” during the school year. Since most students are in school, there are more openings available. The problem is, it’s a lot more work since students have to juggle classes with what’s basically a full-time job.

Graduate students travel to Gillette Stadium for flash consulting session on sustainability at the venue Flash Consulting at Gillette Stadium On several Sundays between September and January, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., becomes a small city, hosting more than 65,000 people for New England Patriots games. There are more than 90 locations within the stadium where fans can buy food and beverages.
